Lay back on the couch/seat and make yourself comfortable. When you are ready, please close your eyes.
Now that your eyes are closed … just notice your breathing.  In… out… in… out… Notice how your body feels … how your body wants to feel … nice and relaxed. Just breathe a bit more… and with each breath … feel a wave of calmness moving down your body… from your head … to your toes. Down… down… down… so nice and relaxed.
So… starting from the top of your head… focus your thoughts there… allowing your head to be more relaxed… now your face and jaw… letting the muscles there go loose… and relaxed… good… now your neck… often tension is held here… let you neck be more relaxed.. and your shoulders now… more relaxed… with every word that I say… deeper into relaxation… and now your chest and upper back… letting go… more relaxed… and your abdomen… more relaxed… breathing nice and slow now… your arms, hands, and fingers… letting go… and your hips and pelvis now… more relaxed… your thighs… feeling heavy… sinking into the couch/bed/chair… so relaxed and calm… and your calves… deeper and deeper you go… and your feet and toes, letting go of everything… good… (pause)
Continue to notice your breathing… in… out… in… out… and with each breath… feel the tension leaving your body. Going away… leaving your body … and going to a place … where it can be transmuted into light. Leaving your body… as the waves of light … continue to wash over you…
Now… imagine yourself… in a futuristic setting … you’re in a sci-fi-like building … but it’s the present time … this is just a new place … for you… You are walking along a beautiful, white, shiny, stone … floor … There’s no-one else here … but you.  You continue walking… along the white stone floor… inside this futuristic building.  The building has high ceilings… beautiful windows… with carved window sills… and an abundance of natural light … streaming through the windows. The light washes over you … as you walk…
Then… in the distance… you see a shining … beautiful… figure. It’s a person… walking towards you. You recognise this person… as your spirit guide… one of many … that you have… walking towards you… and smiling in greeting… to you. You realise that they will stay back … almost out of your awareness… and just be there with you… protecting you… with white light… and looking after you… as this is going to help you… with what you are about to do.
Soon, your spirit guide is somewhere behind you… watching over you as you walk … and you are still walking onwards… to your destination … a meaningful destination … that this experience will provide for you…
Now… in front of you… as you walk softly… and quietly… onwards… appears a staircase… leading downwards. It’s very nice… and futuristic… like the building that surrounds you. It’s also made… of shiny white stone… with gold plated, metallic hand rails… and it is inviting… you feel like you would love to move down… this staircase. You can sense the gentle… calming … presence… of your spirit guide… behind you… urging you gently… to go down this staircase… and so you do.
The staircase… you realise… has ten steps. With each step down… you feel more relaxed… than before. Ten… relaxed and letting the tension go all over… nine… all over your body… eight… from your head to your toes… seven… six… getting more and more relaxed now… five… four… you can feel you spirt guide still there… three… so relaxed… two… even more relaxed… one… so deeply relaxed now… and you’re on the next level down… off the staircase… for now… you’ve never been this relaxed before…
You see… in front of you… a high-tech bed/chair… this bed/chair is nice and soft… and you are now laying/sitting … in this high-tech bed/chair. It feels nice. The bed/chair has a button on the side… imagine yourself pressing it. You can feel gentle vibrations… so gentle and subtle. They relax you further… and you feel safe. Wow… this is nice. You can feel everything… slowing down even more. Slowing down… so that your relaxation… is now doubling. Twice as relaxed as you were… this is so possible. The bed/chair is doing this for you. You feel like… you could press… the button again. And so you do… the vibrations are even more effective. Your relaxation doubles again. One more time… you press the button. So relaxed… more than you’ve ever been before. So relaxed… that the natural vibration… of your body and your mind… is at 5Hertz… five cycles per second… a very deep state.
You take your hand off the button for now… and enjoy the feelings… the deep, deep… relaxation… (pause)
You have now reached an optimal… very deep… state. You are able to go… anywhere… any time… any place… that you choose… from this state.
Now you realise… that… your surroundings… have changed… so subtly… so gently… that you didn’t even notice… while you were… becoming attuned… to the special bed/chair. There is now a soft… white light… surrounding you… that wasn’t noticeable… before. It feels very special… in this place that you’re in. This is a special place. A place so special… that you feel like… it is totally and utterly… safe… and that… you can return here… any time… you want to… (pause)
Now… you have the subtle sense… that this bed/chair… has more buttons… on the other side… which you can imagine yourself… pressing… if you want to. You realise that… these buttons… form part of a time machine… a special machine for travelling… backward and forward… in time. So that’s why this bed/chair… felt so special… when you first laid on it/sat in it.
One of the buttons… you realise… takes you backwards in time… and the other… takes you forwards. It feels like… this time machine… will take you back… to a childhood memory. A positive one… that feels good to remember… and all you have to do… is press the back button… and let the time machine… take you back to that positive memory… and so… you press the back button and wait… (pause)
Gradually… you find yourself seeing this scene… in your mind… don’t judge it… or expect it… just let it come… your positive childhood memory… and it’s becoming clearer… and clearer. Notice… where you are… what you’re wearing… whether you’re inside or out… who you’re with… if you’re with anyone… and what you’re doing… (pause)
In a moment… you will speak… and describe what you see, hear or feel… where you are… and who you are with… (pause)

Soon… when I ask you… things will become clear… and you will tell me… what you see, hear or feel… where you are… who you’re with… (long pause)

Now press the forward button… on your time machine… to return you to… the present time and place. Your surroundings… become hazy again… and you feel safe.
As you travel back in time… the reasons for travelling back… to this past life (or past lives)… become clear… crystal clear… to you… and by the time… you reach… that place at the bottom of the stair case… where you started… you’ll know what the purpose of this journey was…  (pause)
Now… that you’re back… where you started… what was the reason for journeying back in time today?

With each step upwards, you will return… back to the present time… and place… Your spirit guide… you realise… was always here with you… protecting you… they will follow you up the stairs… Up you go now.
One… becoming slightly more alert… two… three… moving hands, fingers and toes… four… five… becoming more awake now and feeling more present in your body… six… seven… breathing and blood pressure returning to a level that is normal and healthy for you… eight… nine… getting ready to open your eyes… ten… open your eyes.
