Make yourself comfortable… take a few deep breaths (pause) … now, when you’re ready, just allow your eyes to close.

Now… before we begin… and with your eyes still closed… remember that we are going to target… the cause of your anxiety/depression/low confidence… We are going to work together… to achieve this… are you ready to go and do this? (Wait for response) … Good… now let’s begin.

Take another deep breath… (pause) and focus on the top of your head for a moment. Imagine that part of your body relaxing. Now focus on the back of your head… allow that part of your body to relax… now your face… allow the muscles there to relax… and let go… of any tension… with every word that I say… you are becoming more relaxed… now… your neck and shoulders… letting go and relaxing… as the waves of relief… and positive energy… move down your body… now to your chest and back… relaxing and letting go… and your abdomen and lower back… relaxed and feeling better… any external sounds will not bother you… but will instead increase your relaxation… now your arms, hands and fingers… feeling more relaxed with every word I say… now your pelvis and hips… more relaxed… as the waves move down your body… now your thighs… more relaxed at the sound of my voice… and now your calves and feet… relaxing and letting go… (pause)

For a moment… imagine yourself in a beautiful garden… everything is green and lush… notice the trees all around you… maybe you can see them in your mind… or hear them… or even smell them… everything is fresh and beautiful… there is just you here… or… wait… there is a soft figure approaching… and they radiate love… it’s your guardian angel… or your spirit guide… if you wish… they are here to go with you into this journey… and protect you without interfering in any way.

You move forward through this beautiful garden… and your guide defers and follows behind you… how nice to have them with you… and as you step forward… you become aware of a special device… in the middle of the garden… it is made of beautiful stone and soft metal… and stands as tall as you are… you approach it… and there is a dial in the middle of it… it is set to “normal”… and there are three more settings on it… you know… with each switch of the dial… that your relaxation will be doubled… and you are happy…  to do this… so you do… switch! (a bit louder) …and you are twice as relaxed as before… and again… switch! … and your relaxation doubles again… and one more time… switch! … and you are now twice as relaxed again… so deeply relaxed now… as relaxed as you’ve ever been… (long pause)

As you enjoy the feelings of being in this garden… you realise… that in front of you… is a series of archways… all in a row… separated by beautiful trees and shrubs. You know… that if you step through any of these archways… you will be transported… back to another of your lives… one that has come before this one…  (pause)

You gaze down the row of archways… which seems to go on… and on… without end… although you know it does end… at some point… when you first became a soul… (pause)

Remember again… that you are here to find out why… you are feeling anxiety/depression/low confidence… and you are in the place where you can locate the source… of this feeling.  That is because… one of these archways… holds the answer… that you seek…. holds the very first time… that you felt this way…

As you look… down the line of archways… you notice that one of them… either right in front of you… or off in the distance… is slightly illuminated… like a gentle light is shining from within… calling you to that archway… where something happened to you… and it created anxiety/depression/low confidence …

You are ready to move… towards this archway… and find out what it was… knowing that… at any moment… if anything is uncomfortable… or hard to re-experience… that you will be back in this safe and special garden… with your spirit guide/guardian angel… and you will be totally safe…

So are you ready to move to this archway? Nod your head when you are ready… (wait for a response)

Good… so it’s time to find out what happened… you can feel your guardian angel/spirit guide gently urging you onwards… and so you move towards that archway… and get ready to step through… with a brief pause… you take the step through… and then everything becomes hazy and indistinct for a while… (pause)

In a few moments, though… everything clears and you can see, hear or smell… or perhaps some combination of those… a scene in front of you… (pause)… it’s becoming clearer… and clearer… moment by moment… and now… you can sense and notice everything… it’s becoming clearer… and clearer… with each passing moment… I’m going to ask you to speak… shortly… and tell me what is happening… (pause)

Now… tell me… what are you noticing? [wait for their response]

[If they say “nothing” or they’re not sure, say… In a moment I will snap my fingers and everything will be MUCH clearer… three… two… one… SNAP. Now what is happening?]

Ask questions like:

What are you wearing?   What shoes do you have on? Maybe no shoes?

Are you alone or with others?  If others, how many?

Are you inside or outside?

How old are you?

What is your name?

… and so on, getting a picture of what is happening… then let them tell the story.

At some point, say to them:

Now, remember that there is a reason you are here… you are wanting answers… to what has happened to cause you… to feel… anxiety/depression/low confidence… do you feel… as if … what is happening now… is the series of events… that caused it? [wait for their response]

If they are unsure, direct them forward or back – in this lifetime.

Okay… so the event or series of events is not happening right here and now… I want you, then… to move back or forward to… the events that are the most important… moving forward or back in… three… two… one… SNAP… and you are now at the most important stage of this life… (pause)

Ask them:  what is happening now [name]? Use the name they gave you earlier, NOT their name in the present life!

Continue back and forth until the pivotal event is reached. Give calming, protective suggestions if needed: “You are only re-experiencing this event – it can’t hurt you” or whatever else feels intuitively right to say.

Allow them to talk as much as they want, and when you feel the issue has exhausted its usefulness, say:

Okay… great work [name, in that life] … you have been brave…  and have faced this issue head on… you now know what happened to you… and you can now move beyond this event… (pause)

Let’s go back in time a little… before it all started… back to a point… in this life… where things could have taken a much better path… a happier path… where everything worked out beautifully for you… You’re going to imagine a perfect scenario… in your mind… in a few minutes… and pretend this happened instead… it will then become your reality… and affect you differently… and more positively… in future lifetimes… (pause)

So… on the count of three… two… one… SNAP! …

So tell me [name, in that life] … what is happening this time?

[Allow them to describe the new scenario]

Great work [name, in that life] … now, we are going to return to the present time… knowing that you did a wonderful job… in facing what happened to you… and finding the source of your anxiety/depression/low confidence… and correcting it… and you will be able to take that knowledge… that strength… that healing… back with you… into the future… and not have it affect you any more… (pause)

For you are a powerful being… a diving being… powerful and divine… and you know that this power and this divinity… is your birthright… is how your Creator created you… and you can reclaim that… for all eternity… (pause)

Stepping back, now, through the archway… and back into your special and safe garden… (pause)

The garden becomes clear again… and you know that this is a safe place for you… one you can return to any time you want to… and you can get more information about things… that you’d like to know… if you want to… and your spirit guide has been with you all along… they came with you… into that life as [name, in that life] and protected you… and all was well…

So now… let’s move back to the starting point… at that special device… with the dial on it… and dial your relaxation back to normal, by gradually returning the dial back one notch… switch! … and another notch… switch! … and the last notch… switch! …. and you are still nice and relaxed… but just more alert again… and getting ready to return to the present time and place…

Now… on the count of ten… you will return to the present… and back to this room… one… moving toes and feet a little… two… three… becoming aware of your legs again…  now moving your arms and fingers a bit… four… five… blood pressure, breathing and heartrate returning to a level that is normal and healthy for you… six… seven… getting ready to open your eyes soon… eight… nine… feeling returning all over your body… and ten… open your eyes!

How was that?

Let them talk – try not to interrupt – and describe what happened and how they feel now about the presenting issue.

Make sure to let them know that they did a great job in doing the work on themselves and thank them for allowing you to help them do it.
