SCRIPT FOR WEIGHT LOSS

This script is suitable for anyone who wants to lose weight who may be struggling with the process. It reinforces the holistic approach that needs to be taken. That is, to reach a goal weight, one needs to make drastic changes to their lifestyle and eat cleanly, remove bad habits and regularly exercise. I also address self-esteem issues when I guide the client to write the statements on the whiteboard. These statements are an important resource builder for the client and will hopefully address any underlying issues that may be present.

This script utilises: Direct Suggestion; Indirect Suggestion; Creative Visualisation; Ego Strengthening; and Private Subconscious Healing.

Allow your eyelids to close over now and rest. Take a deep breath in and breathe out, releasing any tension. Listen to my voice and just know that anytime I say the number 4 or the word ‘for’ that your mind will relax and fall into a deep trance. This experience is for you only…for your conscious mind to let go and for your subconscious to take the driver’s seat. Your subconscious is the gateway to infinite wisdom…that is part of Universal Consciousness. For you to get the most out of this, you must make sure you are comfortable and ready to let go…for this is key to accessing that part of your mind that can help you heal and get clarity. As you relax…for your own good…I will count backwards soon from 14 down to 1…and as I do this, I want you to listen out for the number 4. And remember that each time I say the number 4 or say the word ‘for’…you will drop deeper and deeper. So as you listen to my voice, any thoughts that are at the forefront of your mind, can recede now. For you are relaxing even more and falling more into a lovely, hypnotic trance. For now, listen as I count down from 14, 13, 12…deeper now…11, 10, 9, 8…feeling heavy for this is relaxing you further…7, 6, 5, 4, 4, 4…a lovely lull…3, 2…taking you deeper still…and 1.                                                               

I want you now to visualise yourself on a beach. The wind is blowing gently, and you can feel the sun kissing your face and arms ever so gently. In front of you is the beach. You look behind and see a tropical forest…that meets the sand…full of large palm trees and other tropical trees. You also notice a hammock hanging between two of these strong, tall palm trees. You walk over to the hammock and it looks so appealing…so comfortable. You get onto the hammock and make yourself comfortable. You haven’t felt this comfortable in such a long time. In a moment, the hammock will start to swing slowly from side to side…automatically. It will only swing 8 times…back and forth. The sway of the hammock will relax you further and take you 10 times deeper than you are now…ready…feel the hammock as it starts to swing…8, 6, 4, 2 and slowing down now. You are now so deeply asleep…so deeply relaxed…your mind is open to what I am about to tell you. Your mind is like a sponge…absorbing all the positive suggestions I give to you, enabling you to achieve your goals and feel happier and healthier.

Your mind is a powerful machine and you are about to reprogramme it…in a positive way and with amazing results. You will find…as the days go by…that your body starts to feel lighter. Over time, you are going to find your clothes feeling looser and looser. You will find yourself drawn to eating healthy food because this is good for you. You will feel a deep sense of peace and fulfilment, freeing you from any previous need or desire to snack. If you need to snack…it will only be healthy food, you put in your mouth. You will develop a great aversion to foods that are bad for your health…foods such as cookies, muffins, chocolate, chips, lollies and ice-cream. Instead you will be a magnet for clean food such as vegetables, fruit, lean protein and legumes. You will be excited to plan your food for the week and your execution will be impeccable. You will be passionate about your new healthy lifestyle, learning new things every day. You might even begin to inspire others around you. You will ensure to eat a balanced diet incorporating the right amount of carbohydrates, protein and fats…you will create a healthy eating plan that is right for you and your body’s      needs.  It will be fun and you will enjoy the delicious taste of these healthy meals. You will do this easily because it will assist you to drop that excess weight…weight that does not belong to you anymore.

Think about your ideal body. Picture yourself standing in front of a mirror…with the body you desire. What do your arms look like? What does your face look like? Imagine your stomach…what does it feel like when you touch it? And your legs…what do they look like in the mirror? Let your subconscious mind absorb this image…(pause)…

When it comes to eating…you might find yourself feeling fuller quicker and so that triggers you to stop eating. You will leave food on your plate, if you are full…because this will mean you are not eating in excess. Exercise will become an activity you become passionate about and you will find something you love to do. It will be easy for you to exercise every day…for at least 30 minutes. Your body will thank you for it as you get active…for we humans are built to be physically active.  You will experience a great zest for life…as your clothes get looser and looser and you feel healthier…with a healthy glow emanating from you. You will also be patient and kind to yourself and will stick to your new healthy lifestyle…and will be diligent when you eat and exercise. You will educate yourself on healthy eating and will look at food differently. You will be so pleased when you get to your goal weight. You will maintain this goal weight for the rest of your life. How will you feel when you get compliments from people? For they will come…(pause)…

You are intelligent and capable…and you have, within you, all the resources you need to reach your goal weight. There is a powerful part of you and this part will become dominant. I want you now to go within and talk to that powerful part of you…that part that will ensure you stick to your healthy eating and exercise regime. I want you to tell this part how much you love it and appreciate its existence…(pause)… I want you now to talk to that part of you that may jeopardise this new healthy lifestyle…the part that makes excuses for you when you don’t feel like exercising or when you really want to eat that chocolate for comfort. I want you to acknowledge this part…and say thank you to it for its existence and tell it that you appreciate everything it has done for you. It has protected you over the years and made you feel good when you needed it. You can tell this part to relax now and have a well earned rest as it takes a backseat…(pause)…

I want you now to visualise a whiteboard…there is a marker on the shelf of the whiteboard. I want you to walk over to the whiteboard. In a moment, I am going to get you to write some statements. These statements reflect who you are – they are the truth and they will become firmly imbedded into your subconscious mind. The first statement is ‘I am beautiful and intelligent’…(pause)…The second statement is ‘I am powerful and can do anything I put my mind to’…(pause)…The third one is ‘I have got this…I will reach my goal weight as I am successful and diligent’…(pause)… The fourth one is ‘I love to eat healthy food in quantities that provide optimum fuel for my body and I will never stop learning about healthy living’…(pause)… The fifth is ‘I am a habitual exerciser and I love how exercise makes me feel’…(pause)…The final one is ‘I am amazing, and I know that all the love and happiness I need, is inside of me’…(pause)…

Shortly, I will count from 1 to 10. On the count of 10 you will wake up feeling rejuvenated and excited about reaching your goal weight. You will enjoy a sense of empowerment and will exude confidence and happiness, so much so that you will have a positive effect on those around you. Every part of your body will crave the healthy lifestyle that you imagined. And when it is time to sleep next, you will do so comfortably while your subconscious mind processes the changes made and further imbeds them…so that they become a true expression of your everyday reality.

1…movement coming back to your body now…2, wriggling the toes and feet, 3, 4…feeling energy returning now to your legs, arms, pelvis and abdomen…5, 6…breathing returning to a normal pace…7, 8, becoming more alert now, 9, 10, eyes open now…feeling awake and alert…ready to take on the world.
